Hi! I'm Sarah

Hello! My name is Sarah Collinson and I’m a user experience designer based in Belfast, Northern Ireland. I have just graduated from where I spent 4 years studying Interaction Design at Ulster University and am now eager to start my career as a designer.

I am very creative and have a graphic illustration business on the side where I design and develop graphic portraits for customers. This has really fueled my love for creating graphics and has also enabled me to develop skills which have been extremely useful when creating items within our projects.

I chose IXD because I am extremely interested in being part of the change that is coming in terms of developing apps and other software which have yet to be created. Technology is constantly changing and improving at a rapid rate and I am extremely excited to get the opportunity to be part of creating what humanity was previously thought to be impossible.

Outside of work I love trying new coffee shops and restaurants, spending time with friends and family and travelling to new places (to try new coffee shops and restaurants). My goal is to find the world's best almond croissant- so far Copenhagen has the number 1 spot. I am an outgoing and sociable person who loves to put herself in the deep end and try new things.  I also have a love for exercising and exploring the outdoors which has allowed me to gain inspiration for design from all aspects of life.

My Skills

Throughout my years at university and my 2 years experience working in industry, i have picked up a number of very useful technical skills along the way. These skills have allowed me to develop and mature my designs into a style that i am proud of. My time at Ulster University is priceless as it gave me the time and opportunities to experiment with a wide variety of skills and software that i was able to take into the industry and confidently work alongside other designers.
